Identity
The chain drives what a machine does. The sat decides what it is — and that half never changes, on any block, for as long as the sat exists. Every machine below is a real sat, drawn now, not a mock-up of the trait.
Chassis
The form decides the whole silhouette: where the tube sits, how tall the panel is, and therefore where the three buttons can physically go. It is the first thing the sat picks and everything else is fitted around it.
Face
A personality is not a sticker on the tube — it biases the act the block chooses and how hard it is performed. A GRIM machine and a CHEERFUL one handed the same block do not do the same thing with it.
The desk
One object sits beside each machine — or none, on a bare desk. Each is lit from the side facing the screen, in that machine's own phosphor colour, so it sits in the room rather than on top of it.
Nine of the twenty are alive, and the chain is what moves them. The mug steams for a fresh block and goes cold as it ages. The dice is rolled by the block. The coin's face is which way up it landed. The phone lights when a block arrives. The ASIC's lamps run at the fee rate. The nixie counts the sat's age in blocks, the hourglass drains over the block interval, the scope traces the hash, and the clock actually reads the time, colon blinking on the second.
None of them is clickable, on purpose. Only three things on a machine are pressable, and a fourth would undo that — besides being invisible in a marketplace preview, where nobody is clicking anything.
Satributes
These are not invented rarities. ord stamps the sat itself, and the
machine reads that and dresses accordingly — gold for Hal, ice for uncommon, graphite for
black uncommon, green and rust for the alpha/omega bookends, bone for vintage. Each one gets its
own chassis ramp and bezel stamp.
Six of the eleven the inscription works out for itself, with arithmetic on the sat number alone: first sat of a block, last sat of a block, first or last sat of a whole bitcoin, block 9, born before block 1000. Nothing to look up and nothing to trust.
The other four cannot be derived that way. Pizza, Hitman, Silk Road and Parasite depend on which transaction or which miner touched the sat, so they arrive as explicit ranges pasted in from the purchase receipts. That table ships empty until those sats are actually bought — an empty table is honest, and a guessed one would be a lie inscribed forever.
Shown live: the six the engine derives. The four bought ones appear here once their sats are in hand.
One of one
Every other trait comes out of the hash, so given enough sats you would find it again. These four are keyed to four exact sats and to nothing else. No amount of searching produces a second one, because there is no rule to satisfy — only an address.
